Dr. Zhang is a physiatrist with subspecialty training in pain medicine. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, holding a full independent license at the College of Physician and Surgeon of British Columbia. She is Double-Board Certified in both physiatry (PM&R) and the subspecialty of pain medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the United States.

She was trained at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, Rutgers University-New Jersey Medical School for her residency. Kessler is the top physiatry (PM&R) program on the east coast and has been ranked the second-best rehab hospital in the USA for more than 20 years.

After accomplishing her residency, Dr. Zhang was matched into the renowned fellowship program in Pain Medicine (ACGME accredited) at the Anesthesiology Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. Cleveland Clinic has been ranked among the top five hospitals in the US for more than 20 consecutive years. Being one of the most top-rated fellowship programs worldwide in pain medicine, Cleveland clinic trained her with solid comprehensive knowledge, exposure to the most complicated chronic pain cases, and interventional skills with an extremely high quality and variety, including fluoroscopy-guided spinal procedures, ultrasound-guided nerve block, and joint injections, as well as Kyphoplasty and neuromodulation, such as spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulator trials and implants.
